15 Jewish Groups Exiting X over Musk Antics
Over a dozen Jewish groups from the US and Canada plan to ditch X, denouncing it as a festering swamp of antisemitism and hate fueled by Musk's antics.

Over a dozen American and Canadian Jewish groups announced Tuesday that they would be leaving the social media platform, X, as it "has become rife with toxic speech" due to the working of its relatively new owner, Elon Musk.
A coalition of 15 Jewish groups wrote in the statement that it is time for them to leave and no longer support the so-called free speech platform, according to a report by The Hill.

- American Conference of Cantors
- Avodah
- Central Conference of American Rabbis
- Jewish Women's Archive
- Keshet
- MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger

- The Shalom Center
- The Workers Circle
The Jewish groups claimed that Musk had dumbed down content moderation and has "promoted white supremacists and re-platformed purveyors of conspiracy theories" and what they call "lashon hara" or "evil speech." The organizations added that "Musk himself has re-posted content that is antisemitic and xenophobic, promoting it to his millions of followers." The groups further asserted that such content is "harmful to Jews and people of all faiths and no faiths," adding that "X has become the largest purveyor of antisemitic content among the major social media platforms post-October 7."
The 15 groups plan to "transition away from active engagement" on X in the first quarter of 2025 while maintaining their handles to ensure nefarious entities do not take them with "values contrary" to their own. They also plan to take their content elsewhere but have yet to say where.
In the statement, they forcefully claimed top moral authority, saying, "As Jewish groups committed to healing what is broken in our world, we aim to do our work through means that similarly foster repair. .. X has become a platform that promotes hate, antisemitism, and society division."
Jewish leaders sent Elon Musk to "understand" after #BanTheADL surged on X.
Musk faced tremendous backlash after he purchased X from various Jewish organizations, particularly the Anti-Defamation League, which led to an ad strike against him. Eventually, in good faith, he traveled to the Auschwitz Concentration Camp with several Jewish leaders and Daily Wire commentator Ben Shapiro. Even that humiliation ritual was not enough to subdue the pressure from these lobbying groups to crush free speech.
For the first time ever, the ADL extends a “bit of grace” to Elon Musk for throwing up a Roman salute at Trump’s inaugural rally.

Elon Musk extended a controversial Roman salute at President Trump's inaugural rally.
Musk is not under intense scrutiny for seemingly doing the Roman salute during an inaugural event for President Donald Trump last week. The gesture was widely regarded as a Nazi salute; however, the ADL wrote on X in support of Musk and against the accusations.
